Special Education Coordinator Contractor
Monty Conaty joined Designs for Learning in 2018 as a Due Process Coordinator and Behavior/Learning Specialist, bringing nearly 40 years of experience in both general and special education. She holds licensure in both areas and has extensive experience supporting students in traditional schools and care and treatment settings, including over 30 years with the Hopkins School District and work with Intermediate District 287.
Monty specializes in brain-based behavior interventions, trauma-informed practices, restorative approaches, whole-child frameworks, and the intersection of mental health and juvenile justice. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences (grades 7–12) and a Master’s in Special Education (K–12, EBD).
Outside of her professional work, Monty enjoys gardening, traveling, hiking, lifelong learning, and fiber arts such as knitting and crocheting.
