Stephanie Miska

SPED Coordinator / School Social Worker

Stephanie Miska joined Designs for Learning in 2024 as a licensed School Social Worker and Special Education Coordinator, providing guidance on student services, compliance, and special education systems.

Stephanie began a career in education in 1986 as a paraprofessional with Intermediate School District 916. While working in schools, she earned a degree in Social Work and later served in a wide range of professional roles, including School Social Worker, Dean of Students, Lead Teacher, and Administrator. Over nearly four decades, Stephanie gained experience across Federal Setting 4, mainstream elementary, middle, and high school environments, as well as alternative learning communities, corrections, and charter school settings. Professional expertise includes restorative practices and supporting students with significant behavioral needs, highly mobile youth, teen parents, and students involved in the corrections system. 

Stephanie holds a Social Work degree from St. Catherine University, a master’s degree in educational administration from Concordia University, and an Education Specialist degree from the University of St. Thomas, with K–12 Principal and Director of Special Education licensure.

After “retiring” in 2025, she continues to serve school communities through Designs.
