Sam Stein

Sam Stein joined the Designs for Learning team in December 2025. As a Special Education Teacher/Coordinator, they coordinate evaluations and IEPs and provide direct academic support and coaching to help teachers deliver high-quality special education services. 

A licensed special education teacher, Sam holds a BA in Psychology from Macalester College and an MA in Special Education from the University of St. Thomas. Since entering the field in 2017, they have gained extensive experience in Federal Settings 3 and 4 and currently operate a private consulting business. As a recognized voice in the field, Sam is a frequent speaker at conferences. 

Originally from New Jersey, Minnesota has been home since 2013. Outside of work, they are a community builder who enjoys board games, exercising, and pursuing the perfect handstand. They live with their two cats, Mya and Joë.
